Warren High names new football coach

DOWNEY-Joe Biagioni, who teaches physical education and social studies at Griffiths Middle School in Downey, has been tapped by Warren High School to replace Jeff Welch as varsity football coach.

Biagioni, who grew up in Downey, has coached basketball, softball, baseball and track at Griffiths, and football at Cerritos College and Whittier College. He has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from West Texas State University and a master's in school administration and physical education from Azusa Pacific University. He played football at Cerritos College and West Texas State.
