He was born Oct. 7, 1921 and died Jan. 13.
Survivors include his wife, Natalie Castro; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrow's Pico Rivera Mortuary.
He was born April 31, 1923 to parents Henry and Mary in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a family man who was described as being able to build anything.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; his sons, Onesime 4th and Jeffrey; daughters Kathleen, Mary Joe and Darlene; a brother, Jack; grandchildren Krista, Julie, Nichole, Joseph, Ernie, Adam, Joshua, Daniel, Christopher and Stephanie; great-grandchildren Zachary, Lindsey, Andrew, Kiana, Alyssa, Garret, Meid and Marley.
Burial followed at Resurrection Cemetery in South San Gabriel. Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
In his youth he moved to Niles, Ohio and graduated from McKinley High School.
He owned and ran the Parrot Room Lounge & Roma Pizza in Bell for 20 years after retiring from McDonnel Douglas Aircraft.
Awarded a Victory Ribbon for his service in the Army Infantry and Commissary in Germany in WWII, he was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Burial was at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan; daughters Paula (Darrell) Alexander of Downey, Kimberly (David) White of La Habra, and Nancy (Dennis) Cotnoir of Dana Point; son Kevin (Cathy) of Downey; sisters Donna (Richard) Simone, and Charlene (Donald) Neely; and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William and Charles, and sister Mary Eloise Edwards.
She was 71, born in East Los Angeles, and died Jan. 9 in the Southland Home in Norwalk.
She was a member of the Birthday Club of Lakewood and the Players Club of Laughlin.
Survivors include a brother, Donald; a sister, Betty Lou; her son, Alan; her daughter, Lynn; and grandsons David Hartey and David and John Lee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, and her sister, Doris.
Pastor John Rose officiated.
Private burial followed.
Arrangements were by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
