Artesia 82, Cerritos 55: Guard Kejuan Johnson scored a career-high 28 points to lead this Artesia win in Suburban League play last Friday. The win clinched a tie for the league title for Artesia.

Mayfair 64, Bellflower 48: Chris Childress led the victors with 14 points in this Suburban League win last Friday.

Huntington Park 64, South Gate 51: Guard Edwin Castro had 24 points, but it was not enough as Huntington Park prevailed in this Eastern League game last Friday.

Paramount 76, Alhambra 60: Guard Chris Campbell scored 30 points to lead Paramount's Pirates to this wild card win Wednesday in the Southern Section Division I-AA CIF Playoffs.

Mayfair 64, Palm Springs 44: Justin Hawkins scored 19 points to lead the Monsoons to this easy Division III-AA Southern Section CIP Playoff win Wednesday.

Dolphins earn March Junior Olympics berths

DOWNEY-When the two-day "I Love Swimming" Short Course ABC Swim Meet, in which 566 athletes from all over Southern California competed at the Downey Community Aquatics Center, was over, these Dolphin swimmers (out of 56 entrants) qualified for the 2002 Spring Junior Olympics in March when they made "AAA" times in their events:
